Today started with wanting to work on my Basics, Basics, Basics, class from TKGA. One of the things that I'm asked to do is to send the teacher a list of knitting books I own. I was having a real hard time with it because I own a bit more than I should. I love thrift stores and used bookstores, as well as amazon and ebay. I get any knitting or crochet book I come across. By the time I was done putting in all the books I was truly surprised by the numbers. I have 302 books on knitting and crochet. I didn't even take the time to add in all the thin pattern books or Annie's Attic books. I still need to go through and finish the tags for the books so I can separate knitting from crochet. I tried to import them into the Ralvery book database but I'm not having as much luck with that part. I think I need to do some more editing of xls list.
The next thing I did was to put several boxes of my yarn in the stash portion of Ravelry. I'm hoping to try some of the trading groups. With money tight this year, some change of stash might be fun.
I didn't get much knitting done other than a few practice swatch's for my Basics class. I seem to have a problem with tension and rowing. I've been reading a few articles to see if I could find some help. I knit continental style and I'm trying a few different techniques such as combination knitting and Norwegian Purling.
Yesterday I was very excited by a package that arrived. I had ordered 3 needles from knitpicks, size 1,2, & 3 as well as Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles: a Manual of Elegant Knitting Techniques and Patterns by Cat Bordhi. The sad thing is that I already had the book but didn't realize it until I cataloged my books. (pssst. Don't let my hubby know. ok. he he ) I fell asleep with the book open, yarn and needles in my hands. My sweet husband, tried to quietly pick up my things, but I awoke anyway. He really was sweet as he took my knitting and hid it away from our cats. My cat George, can sniff out wool from quite a distance. He snubs his nose and acrylic and wont touch it. But wool, watch out. I find my skeins unwound and dragged through the house.
Seeing how it is 1am and I have to get up early for church, I better head to bed. Tomorrow I should have a FO to show off. Nite all.
